Palestinians, whether in bombed-out Gaza or in other parts of the Zionist Occupied Land, are waving ‘V’ signs (for victory), while their supporters worldwide are hailing the ceasefire as defeat for Israel in its 15-month long merciless massacre of 47,000 men, women, and children, along with the razing of almost entire towns and cities to the ground.

The truce is indeed the result of the Gazans’ indomitable spirit of resistance that forced the inhuman Israelis to agree to cessation of hostilities and release of Palestinian men, women, and children kidnapped by the Zionists in exchange for captives.

It is confirmation of the fact that the dastardly enemy agreed to stop the bombing, not out of any remorse for its war crimes or out of humanitarian considerations, but because of the rising number of its military casualties and the continued barrage of missiles from battered Gaza.

This means there is no guarantee that the ceasefire will last and the Israelis will not backtrack on their promises,

In such a situation, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian liberation movements, ought to be extra alert against any plot by the Zionists, the Americans, and the reactionary Arab regimes.

Already there are indications of a conspiracy, in view of the recent statement by Mahmoud Abbas of the so-called president of the Palestinian Authority installed in the West Bank by the US and Israel, to take charge of Gaza.

This is a plot against the resistance movement and the combatants resolved to defend Palestinian dignity, honour, and independence.

True, the ceasefire marks a critical moment for aid delivery to Gaza as hundreds of trucks have already lined up at the Rafah border crossing closed since May, however, the relief measures ought not to be a ‘Trojan Horse’ to enable Zionist and American spies to infiltrate to plan more destruction in the future.

Irrespective of the lull in bombing that continued mercilessly until Zero hour Sunday, these are the realities facing the long persecuted Palestinians.

To sum up, real victory for the Palestinians and real defeat for the Zionist usurpers is not possible unless the illegal Zionist entity ceases to exist on the map of West Asia.

This is not a daydream but a certainty and Insha Allah (God Willing) will be achieved, no matter whether the present truce lasts or not.
